SAY Sustainability & Packaging FAQ

  1. Why does SAY minimize outer packaging?
At SAY, we believe that less is more when it comes to packaging. We intentionally reduce outer packaging to avoid unnecessary waste and to lower our environmental footprint. Every layer we eliminate is a step closer to our vision of mindful, sustainable beauty.
  2. Why does SAY use glass bottles?
Glass is infinitely recyclable and aligns with our values of luxury, safety, and sustainability. Our glass bottles are designed to be reused and recycled. We also accept them back through our Return & Reuse program to extend their lifecycle and reduce waste.
  3. Can I return my empty bottles to SAY?
Yes! We encourage all customers to return their empty SAY glass bottles to us. This allows us to sterilize and reuse them in a controlled environment, minimizing waste and conserving resources. Your participation in this program supports our circular packaging model.
  4. How do I return bottles for reuse?
Please visit our Return & Reuse page for details. Simply clean the bottles, remove any labels if instructed, and follow the shipping or drop-off instructions. We are grateful for your conscious cooperation in this effort.
  5. Why are some SAY products refillable while others are not?
Certain SAY products—especially our waterless formulas like masks—come with refillable options because they have lower contamination risks. However, for water-based products, we currently do not offer refills. This is due to the higher risk of microbial contamination from handling during refills, especially as we use a plant-based preservative system that is gentler than conventional synthetic preservatives. Your safety remains our top priority.
  6. Can SAY make water-based products refillable in the future?
We are actively exploring safe, innovative solutions for refilling water-based products. This includes advanced dispensing systems and new preservation technologies that meet our clean formulation standards. We remain committed to transparency and will update our community as we progress.
  7. Why doesn’t SAY use stronger preservatives like parabens or phenoxyethanol?
In line with our #SAYNOLIST and clean formulation policy, we avoid ingredients that pose potential health or environmental concerns. Instead, we opt for plant-based, safer alternatives that align with green chemistry principles. This commitment supports both skin health and environmental stewardship, even if it limits some packaging choices.
  8. How can I support SAY’s sustainable packaging efforts as a customer?
Your conscious participation makes a difference. You can support us by:
  • Returning your used glass bottles.
  • Choosing refillable formats when available.
  • Understanding the care we take in protecting product integrity and your safety.
  • Sharing your feedback and encouraging others to join our sustainability journey.
  1. Why has SAY gone paperless with Product Information Leaflets?

SAY has transitioned to a paperless model to further reduce our environmental impact. Instead of printing physical leaflets, we now share product information digitally—accessible online and sent via WhatsApp after your purchase. This approach helps us conserve resources, reduce paper waste, and ensure that our information stays current and easily accessible. It’s a small change that reflects a big commitment to responsible beauty.
